The Study Desk respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you provide to us.
Information we may collect
When you complete a student intake form, contact us, or book a tutoring session, we may collect information such as:
- student name and grade level;
- parent or guardian name, email address, and phone number;
- subject, tutoring needs, learning goals, and information you choose to share about the student;
- schoolwork or learning materials you choose to upload; and
- booking, appointment, and payment-related information.
How we use your information
We use information to prepare for and provide tutoring, communicate with students and parents or guardians, manage bookings and scheduling, process payments through the selected payment provider, maintain tutoring and administrative records, and improve our services. Any schoolwork, assignments, or learning materials uploaded by clients are used only to prepare for and provide tutoring services.
Storage and service providers
Information may be processed or stored by service providers that support our website, forms, record-keeping, scheduling, or payments. Where used, these may include Google Workspace or Google Sheets for intake records and Square for appointment scheduling or payments. Each provider’s own privacy practices apply to information processed through its platform. Payment-card details are processed by Square or another payment provider and are not stored directly by The Study Desk.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information we control. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Sharing of information
We do not sell personal information. We share information with service providers only as reasonably needed to operate tutoring, the website, scheduling, record-keeping, or payment services, or when disclosure is required by law.
Information about students under the age of majority
For a student under the age of majority, we ask that a parent or legal guardian provide or approve the personal information submitted to The Study Desk and participate in booking or administrative communications as appropriate.
Retention and your choices
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for tutoring, administrative, legal, or record-keeping purposes. You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold, subject to applicable legal and administrative requirements.
